Who We Are

Your Hosts

Hi, I’m Jennie! I grew up in Pittsburgh and now live in Northern Virginia, but Deep Creek Lake has become our family’s favorite escape and gathering place. Every season here has its own magic — from summer hikes and lake swims, to winter skiing, to cozy fall and spring weekends by the fire.

 

You’ll often find me here with my rescue pup, Marty, our kids, and extended family — cousins, grandparents, and friends included. That spirit of togetherness is exactly what inspired Camp Kindred: a place designed for families, friends, and pets to feel at home while making lasting memories.

 

I personally designed Camp Kindred with a mix of comfort, nostalgia, and camp-inspired touches so that every stay feels both elevated and playful. We’re now expanding the vision next door with a six-bedroom home featuring an indoor pool, which will be available on its own or as part of an 11-bedroom estate for larger gatherings.

How many guests can Camp Kindred accommodate?
Camp Anawanna sleeps up to 14 guests comfortably in 5 bedrooms -- 4 king Ensuites & a bunk room with 2 queen beds & 2 twin beds
Is the cabin pet-friendly?
Absolutely! We welcome well-behaved dogs for a small ($25/day/dog) fee
What amenities are included?
Hot tub, firepit, smart TVs, bunk room, stocked kitchen, outdoor fireplace, board games, puzzles and more. A full list is available on the Amenities page.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes, a 2-night minimum is required, with longer minimums for holidays and peak seasons.
Do you offer discounts for longer stays or last-minute bookings?
Occasionally! Be sure to join our newsletter or follow us on Instagram for exclusive offers. We always offer a return guest discount that you also welcome to share with friends & family, once you stay with us.
Is the property fenced in for dogs?
Not fully fenced, but we’re located on a 1-acre wooded lot & the neighborhood is very quiet, great for leashed walks.
What time is check-in/check-out?
Check-in is at 4 PM, and check-out is by 10 AM. Early check-in (2pm) and late check-out (12pm) are available for guests that book directly with us!
Do you provide linens and towels?
Yes, all beds are made before your arrival, and we provide bath and hot tub towels.
Is there WiFi?
Yes, high-speed internet is available and reliable for remote work or streaming.
What happens if it snows or rains during our stay?
The driveway is plowed in winter, and we offer a list of nearby indoor activities in our digital guidebook.

My family and friends had an amazing time! This place felt like a home away from home. It was so cozy and inviting. It was clean, well stocked, thoughtful, and Jennie anticipated every need. The surroundings were so quiet and peaceful. The house is extremely spacious. There were 6 adults, 2 kids, and 3 dogs and we never felt too crowded. Jennie was a great host. She is considerate and very responsive. She provided so many great tips and suggestions for the area. This was actually my family's first air bnb experience and if by far surpassed my expectations. Our first trip to Deep Creek Lake was an absolute success, largely thanks to this stunning property and our wonderful host, Jennie. Traveling with a large group of six adults and three children can often be a logistical challenge, but this home was incredibly practical and well-designed for a multi-generational stay. Every room was beautifully decorated, creating an atmosphere that was both elegant and inviting, while still being durable and safe enough for the kids to run around and enjoy themselves. Jennie was a phenomenal host—extremely responsive from the moment we booked and incredibly accommodating to our group's specific needs. Camp Kindred was amazing! Jennie has literally thought of every touch possible to make this house as nice as possible. Location is great - easy to find, close to lake and town, but private enough where you're not worried about bothering neighbors. We only had adults this trip, but it would be great for families. will definitely try to come back in the summer!
